How the Simple Solutions Approach Works
Our approach uses three research-based, proven strategies to encourage a deeper understanding of concepts. For decades, these strategies—retrieval practice, spacing, and interleaving—have been setting students up for success in the classroom.
Retrieval Practice
Our Simple Solutions Social Studies workbooks are specifically designed so students have to repeatedly retrieve information from memory. Over time, the mental effort they exert during this process strengthens their neural pathways. Therefore, it makes it easier to recall information in the future.
Spacing
The Simple Solutions Approach spreads retrieval practice out over time in a process called “spacing.” Students systematically revisit and recall concepts which increases their long-term retention.
Interleaving
