The Science Behind What Works

Simple Solutions programs are built on decades of cognitive science research demonstrating how students actually learn and remember. The three strategies we use — retrieval practice, spaced practice, and interleaving — aren’t trends or theories. They’re established principles supported by hundreds of studies showing how these methods strengthen long-term retention.

Evidence of Effectiveness

In partnership with Elite Research, LLC, we have conducted studies assessing the impact of Simple Solutions programs based on the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Tiers of Evidence. These studies demonstrate program effectiveness across diverse student populations and educational settings.

Our research shows that schools using Simple Solutions consistently report:

  • Improved retention of previously learned material
  • Stronger performance on assessments
  • Increased student confidence in their abilities
  • Better transfer of learning to new contexts
