Meet the Team: Regina

We would like to introduce you to Regina.  She came to us after 32 years of teaching high school.  We love her because she brings a positive energy to our company.  Many times you will see Regina dancing past your desk; you can’t help but look up and smile at her.  She reads and corrects most of the blogs.  She makes sure you see the best part of Bright Ideas Press!  Here is what she had to say about herself:

Even though I felt ready for a new adventure, I had to wean myself away from a profession I loved by teaching just part time and working at BIP part time.  Living in these two worlds provided a rather seamless transition from classroom to “office.”   Proofreading copy for our books is a natural fit, after having read and graded papers and essays for years. Working at BIP has only honed those skills.

We are encouraged to wear many hats at this company, and that provides opportunities to grow in all kinds of areas.  In addition to proofreading, which remains my primary assignment, I’ve had the opportunity to be on a writing team, learn computer skills, research, pack books, and understand a bit more about the world of business.  Because we write and publish educational material, the BIP environment has many of the elements of the teaching profession that so enlivened me—reading, research, discussion of information and ideas with talented colleagues, and how best to present information.  Crafting material that shapes students’ learning and retention is the next best thing to actually being in the classroom.
