What if the characters in your books were on Facebook? Twitter? Instagram? What would they have to say? What pictures would they post? Here is your chance to find out! Download the e-Chat Poster and fill it out as a character from a book.
Need some inspiration? Here is what Amelia Bedelia would have to say:
- NPR books, Critics’ Lists. Books are sorted in a variety of ways including Romantic Summer Reads, Summer Adventure, Comics for Summer and a variety of other categories.
- AR BookFinder is a fantastic source for information about books and their reading level. You do not have to be an Accelerated Reader user to use this tool. You can search for books based on interest, reading level or ISBN numbers. This tool is very useful to parents who want to know about the books their child may chose at the library. It has a very easy-to-use format.
- Summer Reading 2013 has great lists for students in grades 1 – 8 but also list titles for pre-K and adult readers! What better way to encourage your children to read than by having them see you sit down to enjoy a good book!
- No time to go to the library? Always worried about lost or overdue books? The OverDrive app will be very useful to you. It gives you access to 22,000 libraries and schools. You can borrow books and download them to your electronic reader or tablet. (You do need to have a library card for the system to borrow the books.)
Did you catch your child reading this summer? Send us a picture here on the blog or on our Facebook page. We would love to see it!
