As a classroom teacher, I used Simple Solutions for three years with much success. Now as a school principal, I have put both Simple Solutions Math and Simple Solutions English Grammar & Writing Mechanics into action in every classroom in my buildings with the same success! Both of these programs reinforce what is taught in our regular curricular areas while introducing new information that usually is not introduced to students until much later in the year. I have never had a student complain about doing Simple Solutions. Instead, it is just the opposite - students want to do their daily Simple Solutions lessons! The Catholic Board of Education in the Bahamas is the second largest school district in the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, and we are more than pleased with Simple Solutions. Based on positive feedback from teachers, parents and students, and the results of the end-of-year mathematics exam, we have decided to use the program in all of our primary schools, Grades K-6. Students are enthusiastic about Simple Solutions, and parents are very pleased with its framework of skill reinforcement. Teachers are pleased because each lesson provides practice in many of the standards that they are required to cover. Our district has had requests from principals in other school districts for contact information, so that they too can embrace the program. Some of our teachers are wondering, "Should we share our secret?" The answer is "YES" because a program as positive as Simple Solutions needs to be shared. I am writing to express my enthusiasm for the Simple Solutions Math and Language Arts Programs. Simple Solutions is easily integrated into the regular math and language arts curriculum. It enables the students to develop, review, and master concepts. Spiral review helps the students retain grade level skills. The success rate of the students is incredible. When you can find a curriculum that is loved by the faculty, administration, students, and parents and is successful, that is unbelievable. Simple Solutions is that program!! I have used Simple Solutions Math for over 5 years in my classroom and recently in my summer tutoring program. I find the program a great reinforcement to our Math curriculum. I think its greatest asset is that any student can find some success on every page of the book. It is such a unique repetition of standards that we have mastered, standards that we are currently working with, and new standards that we are introducing. It keeps skills fresh in students' minds. There is a variety on each page and everyday is different. I have never heard a student say, "I am bored" with Simple Solutions. I Love it! Our ITBS (Iowa Tests of Basic Skills) results just came, and I compared students as they moved from last year to this year: Our scores AVERAGED a 17.5 gain in computation skills after using Simple Solutions! The improvements far exceeded my expectations!! I cannot wait to see the growth next year after using the program for an entire school year!
